Bed and breakfast
Arreton Manor is an early Jacobean Manor House steeped in history and dates back to as early as 872. Once owned by Edward the Confessor as noted in the Domesday Book and is specifically mentioned in the Will of King Alfred the Great in 885. Also, Queen Victoria often visited the Manor and is reputed to have planted a conifer on the south lawn.
The Manor is light and spacious with original features and is set in 5 acres of formal gardens. Offering only 2 luxurious guest bedrooms with en suite facilities situated in the East wing providing private first class accommodation. "The Adrintone Bedchamber" is accessed via its own landing to the North of the East Wing. It has a four poster bed and is furnished with antiques and rich fabrics of a Tudor style and has an en suite bathroom with a bath and no shower.
"The Culpeper Suite" faces south in the East Wing via another landing and offers a king size bed, again sumptuously furnished with rich fabrics and antique furniture. The bathroom is en suite with a bath and a separate shower. Both bedrooms have tea and coffee making facilities, hairdryer, wardrobes, sitting area and TV with freeview. There are the added luxuries of bathrobes, clothes brush, sewing kit and Molton Brown toiletries.
Guests may also enjoy the Old Hall with its oak panelling and original Jacobean fireplace as a relaxing area and will find themselves having breakfast in the Old Court Room.
The beautiful landscaped gardens are open for our guests to enjoy all year round.
There are a couple of excellent pubs with restaurants in walking distance, a church, post office/shop and Arreton Barns with its craft shops to enjoy. Arreton is centrally located, ideal for exploring the island. Walkers and cyclists most welcome; there are many public footpaths leading from the Manor and extensive cycle routes across the island.
Arreton Manor offers a charming, peaceful retreat allowing an insight into the past. It is a family home and we warmly welcome you.
